JAMMU, May 18: In an impressive and well attended programme, Air Force School Jammu held its Annual Day at Zorawar Singh Auditorium in Jammu University, here today.
Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, Jammu University was the chief guest on the occasion, while others present included Air Commodore Nitin Sathe, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Jammu, Group Captain Shashikant Pati, Chief Administrative Officer, Air Force Station Jammu, Flight Lieutenant Karishma Sethi, Executive Director Air Force School Jammu and Principal Air Force School Jammu.
The function began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest, which was followed by annual report presented by Vikesh Sandhal, Principal, Air Force School Jammu, highlighting the achievements of the school.
A cultural bonanza was presented including street play, Mime, Group Songs, Dogri dance, Bhangra and an enigmatic dance on ‘Vande Mataram’.
The awareness skit on ‘Colours of Water’ was applauded by entire audience, for its social message.
The presentation of Mime was approved for its hilarious content while the group song ‘Suraj ki Garmi’ marked a soothing effect over the audience.
The Non-Scholastic winners of the session were awarded by Air Commodore Nitin Sathe , AOC , Air Force Station Jammu for their achievements in the field of sports and other co-curricular activities.
The meritorious students for the session 2011-12, in the field of academics, were awarded prizes by the chief guest. The ‘Quarterly Newsletter’ was also released by the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lauded the school management for its excellence.
