POONCH, May 18: The District Level Inter-Zonal Tournament in the disciplines of kho-kho, volleyball and kabaddi, under the age group of 14 and 17 years boys and girls concluded at Sports Stadium, here today.
The tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the supervision of the organizing secretary, Nazir Charak.
Principal, Higher Secondary School Poonch was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed prizes among the winners on the occasion.
Meanwhile, in kabaddi under-14 boys, Poonch zone trounced Surankote by 5 points, while in volleyball and kho-kho under-14 boys, the title went to Poonch and Surankote zones, which defeated Mendhar and Poonch zones respectively.
In under-17 boys, kabaddi, volleyball titles went to Poonch by beating Mandi and Mendhar zones respectively, while the kho-kho title was clinched by Surankote, which drubbed Poonch in the title clash by one point.
In girls category, under-14 kho-kho title was bagged by Surankote by defeating Poonch by 5 points, while volleyball title went to Poonch by outplaying Surankote in the summit clash. The kabddi under-14 girls trophy was also bagged by Poonch by drubbing Mandi in the final.
Under-17 girls, kho-kho and kabaddi titles went to Poonch, defeating Mendhar in the title clash in both events, while Harni claimed the volleyball title.
The matches were officiated by Amresh Kumar, Gurvinder Singh, Mohd Tariq, Narinder Singh, Vijay Kumar, Jasmeet Kour, Sarla Rani, Narinder Kour, Darshan Kour, Neeraj Kumar, Sourab Sharma and Pawan Kumar.
