19 bovines rescued, 4 smugglers nabbed

RAJOURI, July 24: The Police foiled three bovine smuggling bids in Rajouri, rescuing 19 cattle from the possession of smugglers during last night.
Official sources said that the Police team from Thanamandi headed by SHO Fareed Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO Thanamandi Sajjad Khan arrested a smuggler Zafer Nail, son of Mohammad Rafi resident of Khablan Thanamandi. He was moving with ten bovines on foot. The police party intercepted and rescued animals from the clutches of smuggler. The police registered a case at local police station in this connection.
Another team from Rajouri City Police Post headed by SI Danish Maqbool arrested smuggler Abdul Rasheed, son of Ali Mohammad, resident of Badakana, Thanamandi and rescued seven animals.
Similarly, police team from Chatyar Chingus Police Post headed by SI Sukhvir Singh also arrested two smugglers namely Mohammad Shakeel, son of Mohammad Latief and Liyaqit Hussain, son of Abdul Majeed, who were smuggling two bovines from Keri area.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in concerned police station in all the incidents.
