JAMMU, July 27: CRPF celebrated its 82nd Raising Day with full zeal and following all social distancing norms and protocol at Group Centre (GC) CRPF, Bantalab, here today.
During the event, Sarabjit Singh, DIG CRPF, Jammu Sector, took guard of honour at “Shaheed Samarak” as the tradition of the Force and paid homage to martyrs of the Force. S P Singh, DIG Group Centre, Bantalab also visited the Quarter Guard. All Officers and men pay homage to the martyrs.
At the same time, a ceremony was organized to name the road in front of ‘Shaheed Samarak’ inside Group Centre, CRPF, Bantalab on the name of Martyr Joginder Kumar of Village Ranjan (Gharota) of Jammu district. Joginder Kumar was posted in the 2nd Battalion, Dantewada (Chhattisgarh) and took martyrdom while fighting with Maoists.
During the event “Veer Nari” of the martyred soldier, Ekta Devi along with her son Tarun Kumar and mother-in-law Chanchala Devi graced the occasion as chief guest. The Veer Nari was honored by SP Singh, DIG, GC Bantalab.
A lecture on “History of CRPF and Role of CRPF” was delivered to the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya living in the campus. On the occasion, an entertainment programme through a webinar was also seen by all officers and men while maintaining social distancing.
All the activities were successfully conducted under the leadership of SP Singh, Deputy Inspector General, Group Centre Bantalab. Prem Chandra Gupta, Comman-dant, Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Deputy Commandant, Dinesh Kumar, Deputy Commandant, Group Centre, Bantalab and other Gazetted Officers, Subordinate Officers and Jawans also made significant contribution to organize the function.
