NAGROTA, Aug 13: During a protest demonstration here today Nagrota Sangarash Samiti resolved to intensify its peaceful stir in favour of the demand of early execution of work on Government Degree College in the area.
The protesters questioned the lackadaisical approach of Higher Education Department in implementing the Government decision for Degree College.
“There has to be some sort of accountability especially when it comes to abiding Government decisions,” Block National Conference President, Rameshwar Dutt said while addressing protesters.
He also said that people in general and students in particular are genuinely feeling anguished over halting of the work on the college complex despite its foundation stone laid by the Commissioner/Secretary Higher Education Department last year.
“The delay is exposing the intent of those having vested interest which in no way is in the interest of student community,” he maintained.
Prominent among protesters were Ashok Thakur, Sham Lal Sharma, Raj Devi, Santosh Kumari, Ravi Singh Madan Lal, Neelam Sharma and others.
