JAMMU, Aug 13: Three persons were killed today in the collision of two vehicles in Kangrail area falling under the jurisdiction of police station Kanachak.
According to the reports, an SUV (Kia Seltos) bearing registration number JK02CL-5009 and driven in a rash and negligent manner by Abhishek Sharma son of Suresh Kumar Sharma, resident of Sarkoot (Kishtwar), was on its way to Akhnoor via Ring Road from Kanger Morh.
As soon as the vehicle reached Kangrail Camp Chowk, the driver lost the control over the speedy vehicle and hit a Swift Dzire car (bearing registration no JK02BT-2600) driven by Mohinder Singh son of Kamal Singh, resident of Chak Jaffera who was coming from Akhnoor to Kangrail.
The collision was so strong that that one passenger of Swift Dzire car namely Geeta Devi wife of Radhey Sham, resident of Balley da Bagh, died on spot while two other persons including driver of Swift car namely Mohinder Singh along with one other passenger namely Radhey Sham son of Parmanand of Gurha Brahmana (Akhnoor) succumbed to their injuries on the way to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu.
Four passengers of SUV including driver Abhishek Sharma son of Suresh Kumar Sharma, Abhinab Sharma son of Suresh Sharma of Sarkoot (Kishtwar) and Varun Sharma son of Koushal Kishore, resident of Bhawani Nagar (Janipur) and Sakait Sharma son of Satish Sharma of Janipur Colony also received injuries in the accident.
They were shifted to Hospital for medical treatment by police parties from Kanachak led by SHO Inspector Ravi Parihar while the dead bodies of all the deceased persons were shifted to GMCH Jammu for post mortem.
In this regard, a case FIR No 127/2020 under Sections 279/337/304-A IPC was registered in Kanachak police station and further investigation started.
