Uri Star claims UPL title

SRINAGAR, Apr 19: Uri Star team registered 16 runs victory over Green Land Bijhama in a nail biting match and claimed the title trophy of the Uri Premier League (UPL) T-20 Cricket tournament, being organised by 3 Dogra under the aegis of Kala Pahar Brigade at Uri ground.
On the occasion, Brigadier RK Singh, Commander, Kala Pahar Brigade, was the chief guest, who awarded the winners and runners-up teams in presence of Army and civil dignitaries, SDM, Uri Sheikh Abdul Aziz, civilians and students of Army Goodwill School, Uri.
The winning team and a team comprising of best players of the tournament will be participating in the upcoming “Baramulla Premier League’ to take part in Kashmir Premier league (KPL).
In the tournament, a total of 32 teams of Uri tehsil had participated.  After a tough competition in the initial stages Green Land Bijhama and Uri Star teams met in the finals and amidst lots of suspense and tension Uri Star team won the tournament by 16 runs.
