3 thieves arrested, stolen items recovered

JAMMU, Aug 18: Police arrested three thieves and recovered stolen items from their possession.
As per police sources, on June 8 this year, a complaint was lodged by Javed Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid of Banihal, at present Karan Nagar, District with Police Station Pacca Danga stating that some unknown thieves have entered his rented accommodation and committed theft of valuable items including Laptops, LEDs, Gas Cylinder etc.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 72/2020 under section 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police arrested two thieves involved in the theft.
The arrested persons were identified as Ranjeet Singh, son of Balbir Singh and Anahat Sharma, son of Rakesh Sharma, both residents of New Plot, District Jammu.
On their disclosure, police team recovered 3 LEDs, 2 laptops, 2 gas cylinders, 1 i-phone, 2 Mobile Tabs and law books.
Meanwhile, yesterday a complaint was lodged by Pyare Lal, son of Sri Kanth of Shiva Colony, Kunjwani Bye Pass with Police Station Gangyal stating that some unknown burglars entered into his shop and stole the cash.
On this, a case under FIR Number 97/2020 under section 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
During investigation of the case, a thief identified as Sukhwinder Singh alias Shibu, son of Balwinder Singh of Resham Garh Colony, Bakshi Nagar District Jammu was apprehended.
On his disclosure, stolen cash worth Rs 2.60 lakh was recovered.
Further investigation into the cases is going on to ascertain the involvement of arrested persons in other theft cases.
