Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Aug 19: Panun Kashmir (PK) organised a meeting of its Core Committee today to review the progress of its various campaigns and to assess the impact of COVID-19 upon the day to day functioning of the organization. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the president, PK, Virender Raina and was also attended by general secretary(Org),Kamal Bagati, general secretary Upinder Koul, convenor PK Youth, Sameer Bhatt, Ashok Chrungoo among others.
Virender Raina, while addressing the meeting said that there is a geo political churning in the world today, the salience of India in the world affairs is on the ascendency and it is being recognised as a global power with an impact making military. While it’s a matter of great satisfaction, we believe that India needs to punch according to it’s weight and net national power in the world affairs. The abrogation of Article-370 created a great substratum for strengthening and extending the Indian cultural ethos in Kashmir, yet the forces inimical to India have started working double time to negate the positive impact created by its abrogation.
Raina added that valiant security forces are doing a wonderful job by neutralising the Pak sponsored terror but the Government needs to strengthen the nationalist forces in Kashmir. The issues related to the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir, in accordance with their geo -political aspirations needs to be taken up. The creation of a separate Homeland in Kashmir would also strengthen the Himalayan frontiers, which are otherwise being eyed by China and Pakistan. The issues related to the employment package needs to be taken very seriously and on a war footing as majority of our youth have become overage. The issue related to the passage of Temples and Shrines Bill is so very close to the hearts of every Kashmiri Pandit living anywhere in the world and the present dispensation needs to bring an Ordnance for the protection and preservation of the temples and shrines of Kashmir.
Kamal Bagati, while speaking on the occasion reviewed the progress related to various programmes launched by the P K and appealed to the members to make increased use of the social media to reach out to the cadres in these times of Pandemic. Upinder Koul appealed to the youth of the community to come forward and play their role in shaping the destiny of the community.
