JAMMU, Aug 20: BJP Jammu and Kashmir held a musical programme “Ek Shaam Desh Ke Naam” marking the culmination of fortnight programmes related to abrogation of controversial Articles 370 & 35 (a) at party Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, here, today.
J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina chaired the function who was accompanied by former BJP State president and former Dy. CM, Dr. Nirmal Singh, former BJP State presidents, Ashok Khajuria, Sat Sharma, former Dy. CM, Kavinder Gupta, general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul and Mayor JMC , Chander Mohan Gupta while the proceedings of the programme were conducted by J&K BJP general secretary, Dr. D. K. Manyal.
Dr. Pankaj Chandel sang number of patriotic songs who was accompanied by Saptrishi and company. Saptrishi also mesmerized the audience with his mimicry and jokes.
Ravinder Raina, while addressing the function appreciated the BJP leaders for their perseverance and dedication they have shown on the organization of various programmes during the Pakhwara (fortnight) from August 5 to August 20 . He said that on the day of 5th August last year when the controversial Articles were abrogated, our proud Tiranga is being unfurled everywhere. He said that the fortnight celebrations marked the victory which we earned with sacrifices of generations.
He said that the dream envisioned by legends has come true earning “Ek Nishan, Ek Vidhan, Ek Pradhan”. He remembered all the brave men and women who laid down their lives in the struggle be those BJP activists, common masses, Jawans of Police, Army, CRPF and other forces. On the occasion, he also prompted everyone to take pledge to protect the sovereignty and the integrity of the nation.
Ashok Kaul, in his address, said that the chain of events saw the celebrations from all the sections and particularly those communities who were earlier the victim of selfish politics. He mentioned various programmes which were observed during the fortnight like Tiranga hoisting, lightening of Chowks, Jana Samwad, felicitation of Praja Parishad activists etc.
J&K BJP vice-presidents Yudhvir Sethi, Pawan Khajuria and Aseem Gupta, party Secretary Arvind Gupta and party All Morcha Incharge Munish Sharma presented the reporting of various events organized by BJP leaders during the fortnight programmes.
