FIR lodged as Covid-19 sampling staff assaulted

MENDHAR, Aug 20: The Police have registered a case against a villager for assaulting a doctor at Sub District Hospital Mendhar, a member of Covid-19 sampling staff.
Reports said the registration of Corona test was being conducted by the doctors and other Covid-19 sampling staff, in which a person from Quarantine Centre was also to be tested. Medical Officer Dr Tahir Chaudhary alleged that one person from Saudi Arabia who was kept in a local Quarantine Centre, started abusing after he was asked to furnish some details about his travel history and nature of work abroad. Amidst arguments, he attacked doctor and other staff which came forward for rescue. The matter was brought to the notice of BMO, Mendhar.
After this incident, all the doctors and paramedical staff suspended their work for four hours and went on strike.
Block Medical Officer Mendhar Dr Parvez Khan informed that they have lodged a complaint with Mendhar, Police Station. Meanwhile, the police registered a case FIR No. 194/ 2020 against the accused Mohammad Matlub, son of Mohammad Ayub, resident of Bhatidhaar in Mendhar. The accused has also been arrested. Later, the staff resumed duty.
