The recent incident in Kishtwar of Minister of State for Home, Sajjad Ahmad Kitchloo slapping CEO, Kishtwar Development Authority in public view is a case of abysmal misuse of power. No rule of law permits such behaviour against a senior Government official. The action of Minister has led to great resentment among several Government officials. Even the Police Department hasn’t registered an FIR in the case despite written complaint against the Minister. The issue was rightly taken up by the KAS Officers Associate with Chief Secretary. The Chief Minister must also intervene and tell his colleague that such actions cause damage to the credibility of Government and even the ruling party.
