Two booked for forging documents to secure job

JAMMU, Aug 21: Crime Branch Jammu today booked two persons for corruption, cheating and forging documents to secure job in Police Department.
A written complaint was lodged by the CO, SDRF-2nd Battalion, J&K, Jammu with Crime Branch, Jammu wherein it was alleged that one Shakeil Ahmed son of Mohammad Yaqoob, resident of Langer (Jammu) produced fake and fabricated ITI/NCC certificates to secure the job of Constable in J&K Auxiliary Police (SDRF).
In the complaint, the CO maintained that after selection into SDRF, Shakeil was subsequently adjusted in SDRF 2nd Battalion for issuance of formal appointment order but during verification/ authentication of his original testimonials/certificates including CID verification, the ITI/NCC certificates produced by him (at the time of his selection) on the basis of which he was awarded additional marks and selected, were found fake and fabricated.
Based on the complaint, Crime Branch Jammu initiated a preliminary verification as per procedure in vogue and during the course of enquiry, the allegations were prima-facie substantiated and accordingly a formal case was registered.
During investigation, it was found that Khurshid Ahmed, son of Abdul Gani Bhat, resident of Khallan (Pulwama), then serving in J&K Police (now dead), for a monitory consideration of Rs 1.50 lakh prepared the forged documents like NCC “C” certificate and ITI Plumber diploma to bring the Shakeil Ahmed in merit/selection list.
Accordingly, the Crime Branch today produced charge sheet against accused Khursheed Ahmed and Shakeil Ahmed, who is presently serving in CISF as Constable (now under judicial custody in case FIR Number 18/2014 U/S 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 201, 120-B RPC r/w section 5(2) PC Act Svt. 2006), before the Additional Judge Anti-corruption Court, Jammu.
