JAMMU, Aug 21: All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) in an appeal to the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha has urged him to revoke the decision regarding merger of engineering wing of Relief organization with R&B and other departments as it will put the migrants living in different camps at Jammu to lot of hardships in getting their day to day problems redressed.
In a statement issued here, today president of the Committee Desh Rattan has made a personnel appeal to the Lt Governor in this regard. He said that the problems faced in migrant camps are altogether different and the Relief Organisation is fully well versed of the same. The R&B and PHE departments are preoccupied with huge load of work in the entire region and they can’t look into the problems of the camps while there are many migrant engineers who are idle and their services can be utilized in Relief Organization’s Engineering Wing to look into the developmental works in the camps.
Moreover, there is a separate budget for the migrants which is utilized through Relief Organization for the welfare of the displaced people and by merging the Engineering Wing there would be a confusion and lack of coordination resulting in sufferings of migrants.
