Delegation of Bar Association Reasi submits memorandum to LG

REASI, Aug 22: A delegation of District Bar Association Reasi, led by its president Pawan Dev Singh, met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and submitted a memorandum regarding the expansion of court complex and creation of fresh infrastructure.
In the memorandum, it was submitted that the existing court complex was constructed about 75 years back and had only one court. Even as with the passage of time, the number of courts, lawyers as well as litigation has increased, it is functioning from the same building.
It was further stated that the prosecution complex is in a total dilapidated condition and is completely unsafe. There is adjoining land belonging to the Sheep Husbandry Department which is lying useless and same can be utilized for the expansion of court complex and creation of fresh infrastructure.
Pawan Dev Singh also submitted a detailed memorandum to the LG regarding the issues and problems faced by the residents of district Reasi. He explained that in district Reasi, a large number of holy shrines like Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, Shri Shiv Khori Shrine are situated but there is no separate Tourism Development Authority for the district and same may be created at the earliest to look after the issues of tourism. He further submitted that a sheep farm is situated in Reasi town which was established about five decades ago when the population of the town was very less, but with the passage of time the population has increased and whenever the livestock is brought here, there is a serious clogging of roads and traffic jam whereas they have already constructed a separate farm just five kilometers from the town and they can keep the sheep there.
He also submitted that the Shrine Board University be directed to provide reservation to locals on the pattern of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University and also college and courts be opened at Arnas and Bhomag tehsils. He also requested for directing the Shrine board to construct the old track of Mata Vaishno Devi from Village Kotli and for providing free accommodation to the yatris at Bhawan. He also stated that the road be constructed from Middle School Sungal to Majra Kund via Kharah which is declared as Citrus village.
The Lieutenant Governor assured the delegation that necessary action would be taken on the demands.
