Young Star to lock horns with PTS in final tomorrow

KATHUA, Apr 20: Young Star Cricket Club after winning their semifinal match against KCC, will now lock horns with PTS Kathua in the final of the ongoing Tawi Premier League T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organised by Tawi Organizing Committee in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) at Sports Stadium on April 22.
In the second semis, played here today between KCC and Young Star Cricket Club, the latter registered 4 wickets win and sailed into final of the tournament.
Electing to bat first, after winning the toss, KCC scored 115 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Mandeep Singh was the top scorer with 30 runs, with the help of three boundaries, while Benesh Kaw and Dhruv Mahajan chipped in 25 and 21 runs respectively.
For Young Star Cricket Club side, Royal Singh was the pick of the bowler with 4 wickets by giving just 17 runs in his 4 overs spell, while Varun also proved his mantle and scalped 3 wickets.
In the second inning, Young Star Cricket Club scored the target in 19.4 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Sandeep and Paras chipped in 21 runs each, while, Aditya scored 17 runs.
For KCC side, Dhruv Mahajan and Raman Dutta scalped 2 wickets each in their respective 4 overs spell.
Royal Singh of Young Star Cricket Club was declared as man of the match and was awarded with trophy and a cash prize of Rs 500 by Shashi Paul, president, Tawi Organizing Committee.
The match was officiated by Mohan Singh and Dhruv Sharma as umpires, while KV Singh maintained the scorecard.
