JAMMU, Aug 23: SC,ST, OBC Federation and NYSF-SCSTOBC (J&K) organised a meeting which was hosted by youth leader Dr Sameer Choudhary and chief guest of the occasion was RK Kalsotra, State President SC/ST/OBC federation.
The main purpose of the meeting was to aware the people about their rights and give platform and redress their grievances. Participants from all over Jammu and Kashmir participated in the virtual meeting.
While addressing in the meeting Kalsotra said that the policy of the present Govt is doubtful and is deliberately privatizing the Govt departments on mass basis which will stop all reservations rights for jobs. This will badly effect the educated and unemployed youth of the community, He said the new education policy will also effect the poor students. As the maximum students of the community are directly depended on scholarship for their studies but in new education policy the scholarship will be provided only on merit basis which is not acceptable at any case. Kalsotra gave the message for the community that join “The save rights movement” launched by Federation.
Dr Sameer Choudhary represented the statistical data of SC/ST/OBC population distribution in the country their total job share and political representation in the present Govt to aware the people about their right, present conditions and need of the time. He said as per National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) the population of OBCs, SCs and STs in the country is 40.94%, 19.59% and 8.63% that is in average it is 70% of the country and more then 90% population of the communities belong to the rural areas. The Govt, job share of the population is 21. 57%, 17.49% and 8.47% of OBC, SC and ST respectively.
Sheraz Khan from Anantnag said that use the social media positively and make it platform for keeping your views and representing them to concerned authorities. Mould your hearts as such that you should be always ready to fight for your rights and against injustice and always follow our guides and seniors strictly and support the federation and youth front in every possible way to make the movement strong.
Anil Kumar, Ranjeet Kumar, Mohd Arif Paswal, Ch Shoket Seer, Ajay Kundali, Mohd Adrees Bajad also addressed the meeting.
