KARGIL, Aug 23: Inspector General of Police Ladakh S S Khandare during his Kargil visit called on the Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad at Council Secretariat.
SSP Kargil Dr Vinod Kumar and other concerned officers also attended the meeting.
During the course of the meeting, the CEC and the IGP discussed a number of issues pertaining to Kargil district like recruitment of Police personnel in UT Ladakh, creation of Police Sub Division, up gradation of Police Stations, creation and establishment of Police Training School with sports facilities, temporary establishment of IGP Office at Kargil, construction of Police Residential Quarters at Kargil and other related issues.
The IGP assured the CEC Kargil that active consideration would be given to all these issues and steps for fulfillment would be taken up in a phased manner.
Khandare further informed the CEC that 800 vacant posts in Ladakh Police will be filled up once the Government notifies the Domicile Law besides the IGP Office in Kargil will be set up in a temporary building till a permanent infrastructure is established.
He also said that the Police Public School Kargil will be established as a model school with hostel facilities for both boys and girl students.
Meanwhile, the CEC also expressed gratitude to the IGP Ladakh for exemplary cooperation with the District Administration Kargil by ensuring the deployment of adequate manpower in dealing with the situation thrown up by COVID-19 pandemic thereby ensuring safety and well being of the people during these testing times.
