VKS plea to Lt Governor

JAMMU, Aug 23: Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj (VKS) unit Jagti held a meeting under the chairmanship of Pintooji in which various problems confronted the community were discussed.
The meeting said that during last 30 years of exile the Pandits faced many hardships and both State as well as Central Governments failed to mitigate the sufferings of the KPs.
The meeting said that the time and again the problems were brought into the notice of concerned authorities but nothing has been done till date and no concrete policy was adopted to settle them.
The community feels alienated due to the step motherly treatment of the Government and the only reason is that the community is not the vote bank.
The meeting appealed the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to consider the genuine problems of the community.
It demanded basic facilities and infrastructure for Jagti Hospital, declaration of Jagti camp as notified area, relief holders and low paid pensioners be declared economically weaker section, establishing of an ITI in Jagti camp, round the clock power supply to the camp , installation of police Nakas points at the entrance and exit of the camp, initiation of sports activities at the camp, development and beautification of parks and their regularly maintenance, proper sanitization during every week in the camp, implementation of social welfare schemes to physically challenged people and widows.
Others who spoke and participated in the meeting included Pyaray Lal,Roshan Lal Bhat, Ramesh Kumar, Avtar Krishen, Ajay Kumar, ChuniLal, etc.
