SAMBA, Aug 26: One person was injured seriously after he was attacked by his rival who fired upon him with a pistol in SIDCO Phase Two here this evening.
The injured person was immediately rushed to District Hospital, Samba by local people where doctors after giving first aid referred him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu in a serious condition. His condition is stated to be critical.
The injured has been identified as Ajat Shatru, son of Karan Singh of Samba. He had an old enmity with Shanga son of Des Raj of Rapper Kathilai. Today when Ajat was going in a car along with his friend via SIDCO Phase Two he was attacked by Shanga, who came in another car and picked up his Chinese pistaol and fired upon Ajat Shatru. Ajat received grievous injury and fell down in a pool of blood. The window pans of the car were also broken.
However, some locals immediately shifted him to DH Samba where from he was referred to GMCH Jammu for specialized treatment.
Police said that assailant is working in para military force and in a fit of rage he opened fire on Ajat Shatru. The Samba police has registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of the law and arrested the assailant also.
SSP Samba, Shakti Pathak, said that both of them had an old enmity due to which today’s incident took place.
