AJKTWA demands special package for transporters

JAMMU, Aug 27: All J&K Transport Welfare Association (J&K) has urged upon the State administration to provide special package for transporters and transport operators in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a meeting of the Association held here today uder the leadership of T S Wazir, the members from various Truck, Bus, Mini-bus, Taxi/ Sumo, Auto-rikshaw Unions and other transporters, expressed strong resentment over the silence of the Government despite the fact that memorandum was submitted to the Lt Governor few months ago and also written to the Govt of India for special package and waive off Toll Tax, Lorry Adda Tax, withdraw Toll Plazas and withdraw OLA /UBER taxies. They said Government did not bother to address their issues.
The members again urged upon the Lt Governor, M K Sinha to look into their issues as they are facing hardships/ massive losses due to lock down over Covid-19 since March this year.
