JAMMU, Aug 29: A man was seriously injured today in an assault by some unknown persons in Narwal area of city outskirts.
“Identified as Ronie (34) son of Idrees Mohd, resident of Qasim Nagar (Narwal), the youth bearing several injuries was found lying in unconscious condition at Byepass road, Narwal,” a police official said.
He said the injured man was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where his condition was stated to be critical. “The victim is unable to record any statement, however, on the basis of a written complaint by his family members, a case has been registered against unknown persons in concerned police station,” he added.
According to the official, seeing injuries of the victim, prima facie it appears that the man was thrashed and beaten with stones.
