MUMBAI, Apr 21: Seasoned sailor Mahesh Ramchandran, with crew members Rajesh Dhullaji, Neeraj Sharma and Asian Games silver medalist Shekhar Yadav, won the 12th Match Racing National Championship at the Naval Sailing Club here.
The winner defeated Nitin Mongia and his crew of Gaurav Randhawa, Brijraj Verma and Chetan Fernandes 3-0 in the title clash to earn the right to represent India at the Asian Sailing Championships to be held in Korea later this year.
The event was hotly contested by eight teams comprising 40 sailors and saw some big guns such as Arjuna Awardee Mahesh and Mongia mixing it up with fresh new challengers like Gulshan Chunekar, R Mutthu and the defending champion, Ayaz Shaikh. (PTI)
