Woman killed, 3 injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Oct 7: A young woman was killed while three persons were injured, one of than critically, in separate road accidents occurred today in city outskirts.
According to a police official, a speeding truck bearing Registration Number JK02V-2039 hit a scooty (Registration Number JK02CK-4122) near Kunjwani and killed its rider namely Sonia (28) wife of Vishal, resident of Santra Morh, Pounichak, Jammu, on the spot.
“The body of the deceased has been shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for postmortem while a case FIR Number 114/2020 under Sections 279/304-A IPC registered in this connection at police station Gangyal,” the official said.
He said both the vehicles involved in the accident were seized while accused truck driver namely Surjeet Singh son of Hardit Singh, resident of Govindpura (Satwari, Jammu) was arrested. Further investigation to the case was initiated.
Meanwhile, two bike borne youth were injured when the bike on which they were travelling, was hit by a J&K SRTC bus at Nagbani under the jurisdiction of Police Station Domana. The injured were identified as Arjun (22) son of Nasib Singh and Amit (19) son of Bua Ditta Chib, both residents of Shekhcchak Satrayia (RS Pura).
Both were shifted to GMCH Jammu for medical treatment, where condition of Arjun was stated to be critical when the last reports came in while Amit was stable. Domana police had taken cognizance of the matter.
Another mishap occurred near Vishwakarma Temple, Akhnoor where a Kwid car hit a scooty and injured its rider namely Deepansh (21) son of Manga Ram, resident of Lehar (Akhnoor). The injured youth was shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment while Akhnoor police had taken cognizance of the mishap.
