Servo drubs Exide to win Kargil War Hero Cup

CEC LAHDC, Rigzin Spalbar presenting trophy and cash prize to the winners of 13th Kargil War Hero Cup at Polo Ground in Leh.

LEH, Apr 26: Defeating Exide Club in a thrilling contest by 3 wickets on the penultimate ball of the match in the summit clash, Servo Taru Enterprises clinched the title trophy of the 13th T20 Kargil War Hero Cup Cricket Tournament at Polo Ground, here today.
The tournament was organized by Sports and Cultural Welfare Society Chuchot (SCWSC) and CEC LAHDC Rigzin Spalbar was the chief guest, while EC Sports Ghulam Abass Abidi was the guest of honour on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, CEC expressed happiness in announcing to the Public about the procurement of 130 kanal of land from Army that has enabled Council to start with long awaited Sports Stadium for which fund allocation of Rs 22 crore is already at the disposal of Council and he assured to finish the constructions as soon as possible as efforts are already on. He also said that an indoor stadium worth Rs 7 crore opposite Council Secretariat is soon going to get sanctioned as CEC has personally taken up the matter with Sports Minister at Centre and State level.
Abass Abidi and Tashi Zangpo, president SCWSC also spoke on the occasion.
The function concluded with the prize distribution ceremony in which Shayok Sporting Club was given the best team prize. Zahir Abass was presented man of the match carrying a cash prize of Rs 15000.
The winners were presented a cash prize of Rs 60,000, while the runners-up team got a Rs 40,000, which was sponsored by Shree Toyota, the main sponsor of the tournament.
