JAMMU, Oct 29: Congress Party, Apni Party and National Panthers Party (NPP) today held protest demonstrations in different parts of Jammu region against new land laws of J&K and demanded the Government of India to roll back these laws.
A large number of Apni Party activists led by general secretary Vikram Malhotra, provincial president Manjit Singh and provincial president of women wing Namrta Sharma gathered outside the Press Club of Jammu and organized a demonstration against the new land laws.
Holding party flags and shouting slogans against the new land laws, Apny party activists in the form of a rally moved towards Dogra Chowk but police restricted them by barricading the road. The Apni Party leaders alleged that the law is seen by the locals as snatching their rights’ without consulting them. “Government of India should rethink and take back the decision which is against the interests of the people,” said Vikram Malhotra.

To oppose the new land laws, Congress activists hold a demonstration against Government of India at Salathia Chowk in Samba district under the leadership of senior Congress leader Sumeet Magotra. The protesting Congress activists burnt the effigy of Central Government against his dictatorship. While addressing a large gathering, Sumeet Magotra said day by day Government of India is imposing anti-people laws in J&K UT which is unbearable. He asked the people to get ready for a big struggle against dictatorship of Government of India.
Leading a strong protest of the party activists in Udhampur against the new land laws, former MLA and Panthers Party president Balwant Singh Mankotia said that the Central Government is imposing black laws on J&K and experimenting. He said that the Central Government had first enacted black laws to sell the jobs of our youth and now the lands of the people here, which will not be tolerated at any cost.
Mankotia warned that if this black law is not withdrawn by the Central Government, then in the coming days, there will be a huge demonstration by the Panthers Party for which Central Government will be responsible only.
