KATHUA, Oct 31: IRP 19 Battalion distributed sports equipments, IT Lab and other logistical support items to various Sports Clubs and institutions under Civic Action Programme (CAP), here today.
IGP Armed, Danesh Rana was the chief guest of the event.
During the day long programme, Hockey kits for boys and girls were distributed to Hockey Club Hiranagar and a team of village Lachhipur while Volleyball kits were provided to Nagri Club and Sports &logistic support items like Inverter, Batteries, Blankets, Mattresses, Water pump etc were provided to Gujjar Bakarwal Hostel and Madrassa at Kanyari. IT Lab including computers, CPU, projectors, screen and mikes etc was dedicated to Govt Middle School Chak Drab Khan.
The chief guest said that the main thrust of the CAP programs was to provide better facilities for sports, recreation and skill development to the youth. “It has always been an effort on the part of J&K police to provide a better platform to the youth interested in sports,” IGP Armed said.
He advised the youth to make utmost use of these facilities and contribute in the development process of J&K. The IGP also interacted with the officers and officials of IRP-19 Bn and congratulated them for performing exceptionally well during the management of COVID-19 pandemic.
Commandant IRP, Randheer Singh highlighted various achievements of the battalion during the event.
Shailendera Mishra, SSP Kathua, RC Kotwal, SSP APCR Jammu, Arun Gupta ,SSP, Principal PTS Kathua, Ramnish Gupta ASP Kathua were also present during the function.
The function was organised by Dy Commandant, Sanjeev Khajuria, DySP Verinder Singh, DySP KR Tripathi, DySP Rakesh Akram and other staff members.
