KISHTWAR, Apr 28: MLA Inderwal and senior Congress leader, Ghulam Mohd Saroori has said that Union Health Minister and senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad will be Congress CM candidate during 2014 elections in the State.
Addressing public meeting at Kahra in tehsil Thathri today, Mr Saroori said that Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad will be Chief Ministerial candidate of the party in 2014 Assembly elections in the State. He said that people are still asking whether Ghulam Nabi Azad will return to State politics or not. It should be known to all that Ghulam Nabi Azad will start visiting every nook and corner of State after Parliament Session is over on May 10. Saroori said Azad has been included in the list of 100 World’s famous personalities that too, continuously for the third time. At present he is at 70th number.
Mr Saroori, a former R&B minister claimed that Congress party is the only organization which is committed to provide equal opportunities of progress and development to the people belonging to various regions, sub-regions and specially the far-flung areas. He also referred to the empowerment of Panchayats and said that these institutions have already been given powers to monitor for the functioning of 14 departments and added that the need of the hour is that Panchs and Sarpanchs should not only stick to financial powers alone but must exercise the powers they have been given to check the functioning of schools, Anganwari centres, CAPD ration depots, Health centres, Animal Husbandary centres, local RDD works etc.
Later, the MLA reviewed the ongoing works in the area including Kahra-Jai road, Goila-Trankal road, Kahra-Challar road and Kahra-Tanta road.
