2 Kathua Cadets brought laurels in NDA Passing Out Parade

KATHUA, Nov 8: Battalion Cadet Captain Anirudh Singh, son of Ashok Singh and Sumati Pathania of Karan Nagar, Kathua was awarded President’s Gold Medal for standing first in overall merit in Passing Out Parade of 139 Course of NDA Khandakwasla, Pune, Maharashtra on Saturday.
He was also adjourned best Army Cadet and was awarded Chief of Staff Trophy for maximum contribution to jointmanship. He did his schooling from Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) Dehradun, UK and got All India Rank Second in the final NDA Selection list 2017.
Battalion Cadet adjutant Dhananjay Jasrotia, S/o Nidhi and Joginder Singh Jasrotia (SDM Bani) and resident of Barwal, Kathua bagged Commandant’s Silver Medal and CAS Trophy instituted by Air Marshall NC Suri for standing first in Social Sciences Stream in Passing Out Parade of 139 of NDA, Khandakwasla, Pune yesterday.
Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Badhuria was the chief guest on the occasion. Besides, being awarded with Silver Medal in Social Sciences stream, he was also presented Rolling Trophy. He is an Alumni of Sainik School, Nagrota, Jammu.
Both these cadets are from Kathua district and they brought the laurels to the J&K State with their outstanding performance.
The Passing Out Parade for 217 cadets of the 139th course was held yesterday at the National Defence Academy. The cadets received their degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) at the convocation on Friday.
The Passing Out Parade was reviewed by Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal , Rakesh Kumar Singh Badhuria.
The 217 Passing Out cadets included 49 in the Science Stream, 113 in Computer Science Stream, 55 Cadets in arts stream and 12 Cadets from friendly foreign countries were also awarded degrees. The fourth batch of BTech Course, comprising 45 Naval Cadets and 35 Air Force cadets also received course completion certificates.
