Sets on the Beach Club lifts title trophy

BARAMULLA, Nov 11: Sets on the Beach Club defeated Al Jawad Sports Academy by 3-1 and lifted title trophy of Uplona Girls Volleyball Tournament, here today.
The tournament was organised under the aegis of Haiderbeg Sector Headquarters wherein six energetic teams of four districts participated. The aim of the tournament was to motivate young girls to take up sports as a profession and to inculcate the values of sportsmanship.
Brig NK Mishra, Commander 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles and Aijaz Wani, Dean of Kashmir University North Campus were chief guests of the final match.
The tournament was played on round robin format in the league stages in which two pools with three teams each played to qualify for the semi finals.
The winner and runners up teams were awarded by the chief guests with individual medals and cash prizes whereas Tankeera Majeed of Sets on the Beach Club was also awarded with the Player of the Match award.
