SRINAGAR, Apr 30: Amid much fanfare Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir, Prof Talat Ahmad inaugurated the 2nd Vice-Chancellor’s T20 Cricket Tournament at the varsity cricket ground, here today.
The tournament is being organized by the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, University of Kashmir.
In this year’s edition around 108 teams representing almost every district of the Valley are participating in the tournament.
While inaugurating the tournament, Prof Talat Ahmad said that the tournament has received huge response and witnessed unprecedented participation from teams across the Valley.
He said participation is must, no matter whether you win or lose, as it is only participation which develops leadership qualities and inculcates sportsmanship and values of team-spirit amongst them.
Director, Physical Education and Sports, Prof Bashir Ahmad Khan said that the university is keen in promoting the sports activities in and outside the campus.
He also said that the Directorate is also organizing an adventurous trip for the students to Ladakh and Zanaskar this summer.
