Sant Shri Asa Ram Bapu turns 74

Devotees on way to Sant Asa Ram Bapu Ashram to celebrate his birthday.

JAMMU, May 1:  74th incarnation day of the global saint Shri Asa Ram Ji Bapu was celebrated here today at Bhagwati Nagar Ashram with great pomp and show. The ashram wore a magnificent look in view of its beautification and decoration on all the sides.
Devotees in thousands visited the ashram to pay their obeisance and respect at the Vyaspeeth of Pujya Bapu Ji. Since early morning there had been a bee-line of devotees waiting for their turn to have darshan of the Vyaspeeth.
The followers collectively prayed for the good health and long life of the great saint who has been in service of the humanity for the last 48 years now.
An authority on Vedas, Brahamshastra, Scriptures and Adhyatam His Holiness has enlightened over three crores under his tutelage.
Every year on this auspicious day, the followers of Bapu Ji, celebrate the “Avtarn Divas” by distributing items of daily needs viz. ration, costumes, utensils and cash among the poor and hapless people.
After the satsang and colourful programmes of bhajan and keertan, the devotees enjoyed the lavishing and delicious preeti bhojan, specially arranged for this holy occasion by the Ashram Langar Sewa Samiti.
As per past practice, this year also a Shoba Yatra was taken out from the Bhagwati Nagar Ashram at 4 pm which after passing through the main markets of the old city culminated at Parade ground.
The chariot of Pujya Bapu Ji was received with great veneration by the people of all hue and color standing on either side of the bazaars. Many a people were witnessed throwing petals over the jhanki’s. Prashad and Satsahatya was distributed to the people enroute the yatra. A good cover had been given by the police for the smooth and hassle free sail of the yatra.
