JAMMU, Dec 9: Jammu District Table Tennis Championship got underway at Indoor Sports Complex MA Stadium, here today.
The championship was officially declared open by Sanjay Wahi, senior player of the State, who was the chief guest on the occasion.
The chief guest while speaking on the occasion congratulated the organisers for organising the championship and encouraged the players to give hundred percent and play in the right spirit of the game.
The first round of cadet boys singles were underway till the last reports came in. The tournament is being played by following all the COVID-19 guidelines, issued by the Government.
The today’s matches were officiated by Gurvinder Singh Sasan (NIS TT coach), Sandeep Khadotra (NIS TT coach), Vasu Dewan, Meenu Rajesh and Asad Sharma.
Prominent who were present on the occasion including Satbir Singh, Rajan Sharma, IP Singh, Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Er Saleem Bandey (Secretary Poonch District TT Association), Dr Ratnakar Sharma, Gurvinder Singh Sasan, Vasu Dewan, Sandeep Khadotra, Narinder Singh, Sheetal Gandotra and Sanjeev Gupta.
