SAMBA, Dec 11: The Department of Youth Services and Sports conducted Zonal trials of Kabaddi and Badminton under-14, 17 and 19 categories respectively in the premises of Pathseekers International School (TPIS) Ramgarh, here today.
The selection process was held under the supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer Ramgarh Chander Prakash and Physical Instructor Satpal Sharma from TPIS.
On this occasion, Principal of the School, Manpreet Kaur motivated participants to take maximum benefits from these physical activities and sports.
“Getting involved in sporting activities whether team-based or individual sports, is one of the best ways to improve a young person’s physical and mental well-being,” Kour added.
“Participation in sport and physical activity not only keeps children fit and healthy, but helps build their self-esteem and confidence, develop their social skills and motivate them to do well at school. Young people who are involved in sport are more likely to be well-rounded, have a positive attitude toward life and be less likely to develop mental health problems,” she said.
