District Jammu Wrestling C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Dec 12: One day long District Jammu Wrestling Championship-2020, organised under the banner of J&K Wrestling Association, concluded at Gulshan Ground, here today.
In 57 kg weight category, Ajit Malhotra, Neeraj Singh and Rahul Singh clinched Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively, whereas in 65 kg weight Sunny Sharma, Rohit Singh and Vipan Kaith secured Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
In 70 kg weight category, Sachin Saini clinched Gold medal, Iqbal Mohd bagged Silver medal and Sharief Hussain secured Bronze medal, whereas in 74 kg weight category, Muneer Hussain, Sukhwinder Singh and Arif Khan succeeded to win Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
In 79 kg weight category Munir Ahmed, Sushil Singh and Mohd Hussain clinched Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively, whereas Zulfakar Ali, Shakeel Khan and Sawar secured Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in 86 kg weight category.
In 92 kg weight category, Bahadur Khan secured Gold medal, Stiphen Lidher bagged Silver medal and Sachin Mehra clinched Bronze medal, while in 97kg weight category, Javid Khan, Vireshwar Bhardwaj and Saifo secured Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively and in 125 kg weight category, Ishaq Ahmed bagged Gold, Liyakat Ali clinched Silver and Radhay Krishan secured Bronze medal.
All the winner wrestlers of their respective weight categories will participate in J&K UT level championship.
The J&K Wrestling Association have expressed gratitude to AK Choudhary ADGP Armed J&K for providing logistic support.
Dushyant Sharma, SSP Staff Officer Sports (APHQ), Mushtaq Ahmed, DySP Sports (APHQ), Inspector Kuldeep Handoo, Sports Officer (Dronacharya Awardeee) Inspector Sharat Chander Singh, Vijay Pahalwan, Om Parkash-coach J&K Police Wrestling team, Ravinder Sharma (Referee) and other members were present during the championship.
