POONCH, Dec 12: A youth was mysteriously murdered while he had gone to Surankote area to attend a marriage function last night.
Official sources said that young Zahid Khan, son of Sayad Khan, had gone to Lathung village in Surankot to attend a marriage ceremony at the house of one Mohd Khursheed, son of Jalal Din, resident of Lathung. His dead body was found lying under mysterious circumstances near Khursheed’s house at around 1140 am today.
The deceased who is originally resident of Bandi Chechiyan in Poonch, had gone to Lathung on Saturday to attend marriage ceremony of a relative. Hearing about the news, Police reached the spot and took the body into possession and shifted it to District Hospital, Poonch for performing postmortem.
Police has taken cognizance of the matter and said that possibility of murder cannot be ruled out. Inquest proceedings have been launched into the case by police. The family and relatives termed it as clear murder and demanded early arrest of the accused persons.
