Reyaz continues dominance; lifts 3rd straight title

SRINAGAR, May 7: Continuing his dominance in the athletic arena of the State, JK Police athletic teams Reyaz Ahmad on Tuesday lifted the third straight JK Tourism-Magpie Run for Old City (Shahr-e-Khaas) title.
The run was flagged off at TRC ground by Chief Minister’s Political Secretary, Tanvir Sadiq along with Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Farooq bAhmad Shah. Despite overnight rainfall and early morning fog around 440 athletes from different schools and clubs of the Kashmir participated in the event.
It was third time that event organised by J&K Sports Development
Association was being held in the Old City of Srinagar known as Shahr-e-Khaas.
The run culminated at Islamia College, Hawal after passing through Munawarabad, Baba Dawood Khaki Bridge, Baba Demb, Naid Kadal, Bohri Kadal, Rajouri Kadal and Gojwara chowk.
Like previous two editions of the run, Reyaz Ahmad dominated this years editions too. He took lead at the start and finished first with a comfortable clocking timing of 16:31:94. Muzaffer Ahmad of Budgam finished second with the timing of 16:55:20 while as Hamid Aziz of Islamia College finished third with the timing of 17:10:10.
\Tanveer of FCSC finished fourth with the timing of 17:20:10 while as Ishtiyaq Ahmad of Higher Secondary School Magam finished fifth with the timing of 17:55:10.
In Under-17 category, Abid Hussain of Government Boys Hr. Sec. School Zadibal finished first with the timing of 18:20:22 while as Mudasir of same Government Boys School Magam finished second with the timing of
18:55:10.
Younis Ali of FCSC finished third with the timing of 18:56:10 while as Parvez of Chinar Sports Club finished fourth with the timing of 19:10:01. Villayat of Dal Sports Club finished fifth with the timing of 19:20:20.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah was guest at concluding function and he distributed prizes among the winners.
Among others present on the occasion were President Travel Agents Association of Kashmir, Rouf Ahmad Tramboo, JKSDA President Bashir Ahmad Malik, JKSDA Organising Secretary, Reyaz Wani, Kashmir University Gymnasium
