JK Vichar Manch organises talent hunt ‘Gaashtarukh’

JAMMU, Dec 18: Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch, a socio cultural organisation of Kashmiri Pandits organised musical event ‘Gaashtarukh’ for youth and children to connect with their roots i,e Kashmir, its culture and language.
It was the eighth edition of the Gaashtarukh which was organised virtually this year over the period of one month due to COVID-19 pandemic. The children participated in various events including singing, dance and instrumentals in various age groups. All the participants were awarded with medal and a certificate of participation while the winners were awarded with a trophy and cash prize.
In senior singing competition, Siya Pota from Jammu bagged first place while Khushi Pandit from Jaipur and Upasana Pandita clinched 1st and 2nd runner-up places respectively.
In junior singing event, Geetika Bhat from Bengaluru stood first while Daksh Bhat from Zirakpur and Lavanaya Koul from Jammu succeeded to win 1st and 2nd runner-up positions respectively.
In senior dance competition, Aarna Ambardar from Vaishali bagged 1st place while Priya Laxmi Koul from Shalimar Garden and Sneha Pandita of Faridabad bagged 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, whereas in junior dancing event, Vihaan Tickoo of Jammu clinched 1st place while Aneka Jala of Ghaziabad and Shaivi Pandita of Ludhiana got 1st and 2nd runner-up places respectively.
In senior instrumentals, Neal Pandita from Vaishali got first position while Sarthak Pandita from Vaishali clinched 1st place in junior instrumentals event.
Chand Narayan (Master Ji); Rajinder Kachroo; Dileep Langoo; Naina Saproo and Sushma Kalla judged the singing and instrumental categories, whereas Aneesh and Himani judged the dance category.
