Govt forms Screening Committee on BADP

JAMMU, Jan 21: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has constituted a UT Level Screening Committee (UTLSC) on Border Area Development Programme (BADP).
The committee, headed by the Chief Secretary, shall approve Five Year Plan/Annual Action Plans duly recommended by the district Committees under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) as per the guidelines for submission to Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
It shall review and monitor the progress of schemes under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) and shall also take note of policy and other bottleneck (including availability of doctors and teachers) in BADP coverage area besides reviewing the status of saturation of Central/Centrally Sponsored Schemes in border blocks/districts.
The committee, comprising Administrative Secretaries of Finance, Home, PD&MD, both the Divisional Commissioners and DDCs of border districts, shall be services by Planning, development & Monitoring Department.
