National level short story writing competition held

JAMMU, Dec 21: Government Degree College Vijaypur today organised a national level online short story writing competition on themes including COVID-19 and spirituality; COVID-19 and economic growth; COVID-19 and importance of human health; COVID-19 and educational reforms and COVID-19 and social reforms for students and scholars.
A large numbers of students of various institutions participated in the competition with great zeal, enthusiasm and fervour. The aim of the competition was the students and scholars to showcase their creative flair in the literary genre of short story writing as well as to know their understanding of COVID-19 and its impacts.
The students and scholars expressed their ideas in the form of short story focused on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic. The first position was shared by Abhay Kumar of GDC Vijaypur and Vinod Kumar of DDE, University of Jammu while 2ndposition was secured by Simran Bhalla of GDC Vijaypur and 3rd position was claimed by Shivani Sangral of GDC Samba.
The consolation prize was given to Sanyum Kumar of IITM, Murthal, Haryana. Dr Shittal Sharma, Prof Anil Bhagat and Dr Mohd Yousuf Rather were among jury members. The whole programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, College Principal.
The whole event was co-ordinated by Dr Sunil Kumar Mangoch. Later, e-certificates were awarded to all the winners.
