District Archery C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Dec 24: Two days Jammu District Archery Championship, organised by Archery Association of Jammu and Kashmir concluded at Gulshan Ground, here today.
The championship was organised under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association in collaboration with J&K Police.
In Indian Round sub-jr boys 20 mtrs distance, Dhron Dev, Nitish Bawa and Umesh Verma stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, whereas in Sub-Jr girls 20 mtrs distance, Rasjot Kour, Harsheen Kour and Davleen Kour claimed 3rd positions respectively.
In Indian Round senior category boys 30 mtrs, Bhawani Jasrotia, Gourav Bandra and Sahil Magotra clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively, whereas in Indian Round senior women 30 mtrs, Usha Devi, Mehnaz and Rita Devi bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
In compound bow men 50 mtrs distance, Amit Thakur, Shubham Jasrotia and Bhawani stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, whereas, in compound bow women 50 mtrs, Anu Bhagal bagged 1st place, Manisha Aggarwal clinched 2nd place.
In compound junior boys, Nikhil Sharma secured 1st position, whereas in compound senior boys, Shubham Sharma, Amit Thakur and Bhawani Jasrotia bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively and in compound senior girls Manisha Aggarwal secured 1st place and Anu Bhagat clinched 2nd place.
Dushyant Sharma SSP, former international wrestler and Staff Officer (Sports) to ADGP Armed, J&K Police were the chief guest while, Kiran Wattal vice-president Gymnastic Federation of India was the guest of honour.
Prominent who were present during the function included Sunil Sharma senior vice president Archery Association of Jammu & Kashmir, Inspector Kuldeep Handoo sports officer JKP and Dronacharya Awardee, Inspector Sharat Chander gen secy Athletic Association, Rajan Sharma secy Boxing Association, Mushtaq Ahmed DSP Sports, Darshna Kumari, Simmi Sharma, Aman Sangral, Sahil Sharma & Meenu Choudhary, whereas Vikas Gupta was the organizing secretary of the championship.
