SIDCO Employees Union holds AGM, elects Mir as chairman

SAMBA, Jan 7: Ghulam Mohammad Mir and Jagjit Singh were officially announced as chairman and vice chairman of the SIDCO Employees Union in its annual general meeting (AGM) held in the Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana.
Managing Director, J&K SIDCO, Mohd Harun, was the chief guest on the occasion while General Managers of the Corporation namely Tara Chand Thakur, Mohd Shawl Khan, Hakim Mashood and Binu Raina, Pankaj Gupta SE (Civil), Manager Estates, Executive Engineers, Deputy Managers and General Employees of J&K also participated in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Mohd Mir highlighted the demands of employees and presented charter of demands to the Managing Director (MD), who gave full assurance to meet the genuine demands of the employees.
The MD stressed upon all the employees to work hard for the betterment of the Corporation and appreciated the employees union for giving some suggestions for making the Corporation more successful in respect of revenue generation.
Earlier, the welcome address was presented by Umesh Razdan, president of the Union for Jammu region. He also put forth demands of the Union before the MD.
Other executive members who participated in the meeting were Ganesh Lal (general secretary), Ved Prakash (senior vice president), Aftab Ahmad (vice president), Mohd Mehmood Khan (organizer), Ghanshyam Salatghia (secretary), Abdul Gani (treasurer), Padam Kumar, Jyoti Sharma, Sandeep Singh and Mohd Naseer Khan. From SIDCO Employees Union Srinagar, Ghulam Rasool Bhat (vice president) and Khurshid Ahmad Yatoo (chief organizer) attended the meeting.
