Basantgarh students shine in National Youth Festival

Jammu, Jan 9: Eight students from far flung area of Basantgarh tehsil of district Udhampur shined in National Youth Festival 2021, organised by Ministry of Youth Services and Sports from January 5 to 8 at Teacher Bhawan Gandhi Nagar, here today.
These students outplayed several competitors at District and Division level under the guidance and supervision of Subash Brahamanu teacher and renowned Dogri artist.
The students recorded one Dogri song on COVID-19 for the festival which was written and composed by Subash Brahamanu, whereas one more Dogri folk song ‘Bhakh’ was also recorded along with flute in instrumental category. The result of which will be declared by the judging committee on January 18 at National level.
It is pertinent to mention here that apart from their competitions, the students also enthralled spectators during concluding ceremony function which was attended by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Advisor to LG Farooq Khan and large numbers of officers. “Participants from different parts of Union Territory presented their cultural items during concluding ceremony but performance by Subash Brahamanu and his team attracted the audience at large.”
Subash Brahamanu expressed his gratitude to District Youth Services & Sports Officer Udhampur for providing opportunity and platform to students of far flung area of Basantgarh to show their talent.
