JAMMU, Jan 20: ASCC defeated Elite CC with seven wickets, while Chanpora trounced Royal Hawks by four wickets in the ongoing CL Chrangoo Memorial Cricket Tournament, being played at Country Cricket Ground Amb Gharota, here today.
Elite CC won the toss and decided to bat first. Elite CC made moderate 113 runs by losing all wickets with two overs left from the stipulated 20 overs match. Umar made 24 runs, whereas Ashraf and Javid contributed 24 and 17 runs respectively. From bowling side, Hafiz took three wickets, while Nayeem bagged four wickets and Fahad and Mehraan clinched one wicket each.
In reply, ASCC chased the target by losing only three wickets and won the match by seven wickets. Aashu made highest score of 47 runs, Owais and Irfan contributed 18 and 15 runs respectively. From bowling side, Akees and Adil Sofi took two and one wickets respectively. Nayeem was declared as man of the match for his outstanding bowling.
In second match, batting first the Royal Hawks made 121 runs by losing all wickets with the help of nine extra runs. Shoaib scored 27 runs, whereas Yawar and Shakir contributed 24 and 21 runs respectively. From bowling side, Ajmal and Umar took two wickets each and Gowhar took one wicket.
While chasing the target, Chanpora chased the set target by losing six wickets. Umar made 34 runs while Ishfaq and Gowhar contributed 19 and 16 runs respectively. From bowling side, Amir Mushtaq and Rayees bagged two wickets each and Shakir and Amir Gul clinched one wicket each. Umar was declared as man of the match, whereas Gharu and Bharat were umpires and Tanish acted as a scorer.
