*Udhampur Volleyball Club emerges winner

UDHAMPUR, Jan 22: Udhampur Volleyball Club emerged winner of Volleyball Premier League and qualified for the 2nd phase of tournament which is scheduled to be held at Jammu, organized by J&K Sports Council in collaboration with Udhampur District Volleyball Association Udhampur at Mini Stadium, here today.
During the last day of the tournament, three matches were played wherein Dhanori Volleyball Club defeated Malhar Volleyball Club by (3-0), (25-22), (25-20), & (25-20) sets, whereas Chiryai Volleyball Club got better of Narsingh Volleyball Club Ramnagar by (03-2) (25-16), (25-23), (21-25), (21-25) & (15-11) sets and Udhampur Volleyball Club trounced City Volleyball Club by (03-01) (30-28), (25-20), (21-25) & (25-21).
The matches were officiated by the technical panel of officials including Naveen Kumar Sharma, Sanjay Sharma, Kuldeep Sharma, Manik Nargotra and Dilsan Sharma (scorer) while Anshu Brat Khanna was convener of publicity.
Swaran Singh, DYSSO Udhampur was the chief guest, whereas Mahadeep Singh (Retd SSP) president Senior Citizen Association Udhampur, Som Raj Sharma (Retd. Colonel) and Balwant Singh (Retd Colonel) were among special guests. Roshan Lal Gupta member Volleyball Association of J&K, Shashi Kumar Sharma Physical Director, Santosh Kumari ZPEO, Poonam Sharma ZPEO and Hem Raj also graced the function.
The tournament was organized under the overall supervision of Shaktish Chopra Manager Subash Stadium Udhampur.
