Sir,
Students in the present society are passing through a phase of stiff competition. In this scenario, surface knowledge and rote learning cannot provide any succour to the needy students. It will not help the students to catch up with the existing standard. It is a paradox that students securing more than 90% marks in board examinations find themselves nowhere in the national level examinations.
Question papers set by the concerned agencies are being viewed as of medicore standard. Students have not to tax their brains to solve the questions. Questions are set in such a way that the students already know the target and it becomes easy for them to shoot the mark.
It calls for attention from the concerned agencies. There has to be a paradigm shift in the existing pattern to raise the difficulty level of the questions to some extent. By doing so a competitive culture based on indepth study, creativity is developed in the society.
Concerned agencies should involve experts on education to get a productive suggestion from them. In the beginning there may be some hiccups but in the long run it may bear fruit in the larger interest of student community.
Yours etc…
