DODA, May 17: Defeating their rivals convincingly, Kulhand Cricket Club and Youth Combine Bhaderwah advanced to the next round in the ongoing All India 9th Gufran Memorial T-20 Cricket Championship 2013 at Sports Stadium, here today.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda and sponsored by J&K Bank,Bajaj Allianz and Rashtriya Rifles Rajput Unit Doda.
Earlier, Kulhand Cricket Club drubbed Rangrez Cricket Club Doda by 37 runs in an easy contest.
Batting first after winning the toss, Kulhand Cricket Club scored 137 runs in stipulated 20 overs by losing 7 wickets. Mushtaq scored 34 runs, while Ghulam Rasool contributed 25 runs to the total. For Rangrez Cricket Club, Umair and Abrar took 1 wicket each.
Rangrez Cricket Club in reply bundled out for 100 runs, thus lost the match by 37 runs. Mudasir was the top scorer with 40 runs, while Amir contributed 17 runs. For Kulhand Cricket Club, Ghulam Rasool scalped 3 wickets while Javeed took 2.
Rasool of Kulhand Cricket Club was declared as man of the match for his All-round performance.
In another match, Youth Combine Bhaderwah trounced Delhi Super Kings by 41 runs. Batting first, Youth Combine Bhaderwah scored 161 runs in the allotted overs. Tahir Shapoo scored 36 runs while Muneer contributed 30 runs for his team. From Delhi Super Kings, Rana and Razi shared 3 wickets each.
In reply, Delhi Super King bundled out for 120 runs. Rawat scored 27 runs, while Sajid contributed 25 runs to the total. For Bhaderwah , Touseef and Touqeer shared 2 wickets each. Tahir Shapoo of Youth Combine Bhaderwah was declared as man of the match for his superb batting performance. The man of the match award trophy was presented by chief guest Taranjeet Singh Commandant 76 CRPF Batallion, Doda.
