JAMMU, Jan 30: Sarwant Singh Gill, associate secretary J&K Olympic Association and secretary general Cycling Association of J&K has been nominated as a member of ‘Talent’ Identification Zonal Committee for North Zone (Cycling) of Khelo India identification Programme-an initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The appointment was made by High Performance Director of Khelo India Talent Identification, Dr SS Roy. The committee would identify talents at grass root levels of States and UT including J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Ladakh and Uttarakhand.
The role & responsibilities of the members are identification of grass root level talent by using appropriate methods and non-competitions to ensure updation of data base on NSRS and create ranking of athletes.
