Srinagar, Feb 1 : As it has taken steps for retrieving encroached land from the unauthorized occupants in terms of court directions, the Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA) has sought further time to remove the remaining encroachments also.
PDA counsel M A Chashoo (AAG) today submitted before the Division Bench of Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Rajnesh Oswal that most of the encroachments in and around the resort have been removed but the work has been stopped on account of inclement weather and necessary steps would be taken to remove the remaining encroachments also.
With regard to the quashing of Master Plan of 2005-2025, DB said that it is admitted position that the said MP is not in existence and Master Plan 2015-2032 is in place as such close the issue of quashing of MP of the resort.
It is noted that the court on large encroachments in and around the resort had observed that public land is being exploited for commercial profits and the authorities are in collusion and complicit with the illegal acts and had directed the PDA to initiate steps for eviction of the unauthorized occupants on State land.
PDA in terms of three anti-encroachment drive, has retrieved 1035 Kanals of Government Forest and Wildlife land which include the Government Land near Plaza Hotel, Wild Life (Mamal area), Forest Area (Lidroo) and the Government Land at Aru which is in Total as 1035 Kanals
PDA in terms of the court directions has undertaken digital documentation including videography, cadastral mapping, photography of existing structures and drone shooting has also been taken up and entrusted to the agency namely M/S I Kraft Software, Srinagar for carrying out the same.
“The I-Kraft software has completed the process in 07 villages i.e. Aru, Mondlana, Firslana, Laripora, Pahalgam, Ganishbal and Mamal, out of 18 villages. Meantime Housing and Urban Development Department, Government of Union Territory of the Jammu & Kashmir enclosing an action plan formulated by the Government with regard to management of Solid Waste in the area and stated that the action taken plan prepared by the Government has been sent to the Local authorities including the Pahalgam Development Authority.
Chief Executive Officer PDA is under direction to strictly comply the court directions and place to compliance before the Court posting of signages and implementation thereof. He has also to place before the Court the information with regard to the waste management (solid and liquid waste) including signages through electronic and print media.
