SAMBA, Feb 1: Samba police has recovered a stolen car and arrested the car lifter today.
Police said on January 19, 2021, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station (PS) Samba by one Rajeev Gupta, S/o Ashok Kumar of Ward No. 7/9 Bantalab, stating therein that on the intervening night of January 18/19, 2021, some unknown persons have stolen away his Maruti Swift car bearing Registration Number, JK21A-1325, parked in front of his house.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR No. 24/2021 U/S 379 IPC was registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a Police team of PS Samba headed by SHO rounded up several suspects for preliminary investigation. Leads were developed based on which two suspects namely Sahil Kumar @ Buki S/o Raj Kumar of Budhwani, Samba and Kunal Tezi, S/o Rakesh Kumar of Bantalab, Samba broke down during sustained interrogation and confessed their involvement in the theft case.
Accordingly on their disclosure, the Maruti Swift car stolen was recovered from Manohar Gopala, Samba. Further investigation of the case is going on.
